Leading technology companies create a virtual reality guild
Acer, Starbreeze, Google, HTC, VIVE, Oculus, Samsung and Sony have created the Global RV Association to develop common software and share practices
The main technology companies have created the so-called Global Virtual Reality Association (GVRA) in order to develop and share common practices.
The companies that joined this Wednesday under the GVRA are Acer Starbreeze, Google, HTC VIVE, Oculus of Facebook, Samsung and Sony Interactive Entertainment, according to a joint statement.
These companies intend to "unite the international community of virtual reality", which could be a first step towards the development of a common software nowadays nonexistent, despite the notable absence in the Valve association.
"The goal of the GVRA is to promote responsible development and adoption of virtual reality worldwide, its members will develop and share practices, conduct research and unite the international community," they said.A
