The United States studies to approve calls during flights

The final decision will be in the hands of each company

"Please turn off your electronic devices during this flight." Perhaps this phrase is one of the most repeated by the crews of the airlines. However, you can have the days counted.

The Department of Transportation of the United States (DOT) will study the possibility of allowing voice calls during commercial flights, but it will have to be through WiFi.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the US agency will study the proposal, although it is not expected to be short-term. US officials will review the feasibility of the project and gather the opinions of airlines and industry experts.

However, the final decision to implement this rule will remain in the hands of the companies themselves, as they will decide whether to allow voice calls. If they approve it, they will have to inform during the purchase of the tickets of this possibility.

More and more airlines and flights that incorporate WiFi and allow use of the network on board, although with certain limitations. The US Department of Transportation believes that voice calls can be facilitated, so that users can talk on the phone as it does on trains, buses and subways.
