How to convince the Spanish market with an electric car, according to Tesla

From this Friday, the latest electric models of the iconic Elon Musk brand can be booked in Spain. This is his technological bet

Tesla starts its 100% electric motors of the Model X SUV and its Model S. sedan. Although there are still several months to see the vehicles circulating on the Spanish roads, reservations can already be made on the company's website, but the delivery is not It will be until the first quarter of 2017.

In 2003, Elon Musk visited the AC Propulsion company that had a prototype electric sports car based on a gasoline car kit that had been fitted with an electric motor and lithium-ion batteries. A year later he invested nearly 6 million dollars in Tesla Motors. That's where the Tesla Motors race started and a decade later they have a presence in 22 countries.

One of the last to join the North American list is Spain, in which Elon Musk has taken Barcelona as its center of operations. The Ciudad Condal and Madrid are the two lights chosen to light their 100% electric motors.

With just over a month of presence in Spain, on October 28 registered their registered office in the Mercantile Registry, Tesla Spain does not have dealers in the Iberian Peninsula, so the delivery of the vehicles will be made, for the moment, in hotels.

Although this is not the main headache for Tesla's Spanish managers, electric recharging points in Spain are still scarce. You will have to make an important effort in this regard. For this, it will have the help of the sector that expects to increase the electric car fleet to 12,000 vehicles in 2017. A takeoff that will be supported by Tesla and its batteries with autonomy between 408 kilometers and 613 kilometers.

Speed as a flag

With a single click and in less than 6 seconds, as they start and accelerate their engines in its most modest version, you can now book a genuine Tesla. The prices start from 80,100 euros for the Model S and 103,500 euros for the Model X, in its standard version.

From there, the customer from the Tesla website can customize their vehicle in a technological service à la carte. From the most basic color, tires and upholstery services to an innovative air filtration system that includes a defense mode against biological weapons. A mobile bunker for only 3,400 euros more that removes from the cabin air at least 99.9% of the pollution of exhaust particles and all allergens, bacteria and other pollutants, explain Tesla on its website.

Autopilot

The main attraction of the Tesla is the famous autopilot, although it is a feature that has been questioned after the accidents registered during the past year. In respect, Tesla has stated on several occasions that the driver must always be in control of the car.

With the payment of 5,600 euros, Tesla engineers incorporate 12 ultrasonic sonar sensors with 360 degree coverage and four cameras for greater precision, redundancy and to see vehicles approaching quickly in adjacent lanes.

The new version of Autopilot adjusts the speed of the response to the different traffic conditions. With the same system and thanks to a computer 40 times more powerful than before will allow to find free holes to park autonomously.

To the final account if you add 3,400 euros more, the Tesla cameras are duplicated and it will only be necessary to tell the car where you want to go to get to the destination. Your Tesla will figure out the optimal route, navigate through urban streets and solve complex intersections. Although they add this function, it may vary depending on the jurisdiction.

According to the data offered by Telsa, the cost of electricity to drive the Model 6 saloon is seven times lower than that of a conventional utility, which would save 6,000 euros per year.

Although for this, the improvement has to focus on recharging their electric batteries. In fact Tesla has already implanted seven of its 'superchargers' in Spain. These positions are distributed by the Spanish Levante, from the border with France to Granada.

The American company explains that it has 36 charging points in almost 50 destinations so that Tesla users travel without interruption throughout Spain. These target loaders are not superchargers. However, Tesla remembers that all the variants of the Model S and the Model X can be charged in any conventional socket by means of an adapter, so the total purchase amount must be added 500 euros.
